About

Catherine Garza is pursuing a BFA in Theatre Production and Design with an emphasis in Lighting Design at the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance. She has been active in technical theatre since her freshman year of high school, participating in UIL Theatrical Design, UIL One-Act Play, and multiple school shows. Since then, she has designed in university productions, with the City of Pharr, and for local theatre companies such as Spotlight Theatre Co.

Her most recent productions include the Pharr Parks and Recreation Theatre Department's Frozen Jr. and the School of Theatre and Dance's 10 Minute Play Festival. In addition to lighting design, she has expanded to technical directing, stage management, scenic construction, and performing as a tour guide and on stage musician as well. She has also had her short play Sun-Dried produced at the Summer of Creation New Play Festival in the Rio Grande Valley. Her skillsets include:
